Lambda Sigma is an honorary society for land surveying and geomatics engineering
students. The purpose of Lambda Sigma is to recognize and nuture important qualities in a land
surveying student: academics, integrity, honesty and sociability.
Founded at Purdue University in 1978, we have since grown to
include chapters at
Chapters are currently being formed at other universities, and these will be announced soon.
Each initiate makes a Lambda Sigma survey stake that is signed by the membership at the initiation ceremony.
