2014 Purdue Road School

Celebrating 100 Years

The 100th Purdue Road School was held March 11-13 2014. Civil Engineering Professors Darcy Bullock and John Haddock served as co-chairs of the conference that included 160 sessions attended by approximately 2,330 transportation professionals. This year’s attendance resulted in record registration for Purdue Road School. Presentations from the 2014 Purdue Road School are available at http://docs.lib.purdue.edu/roadschool/2014/.

The Tuesday Opening Session featured Randy Strasser, Mayor of Delphi; Karl Browning, Indiana Department of Transportation Commissioner; Jeff Jasper, Former Kentucky Transportation Cabinet; and Rick Marquis, FHWA Indiana Division Administrator.

Immediately following the opening session, participants had an opportunity to meet with vendors and visit student poster sessions. Many enjoyed the weather by eating lunch outside and again gathered at the conclusion of Tuesday’s technical sessions.

On Wednesday, March 12th, Purdue President Mitch Daniels introduced Governor Mike Pence who delivered the keynote address at the 2014 Road School Luncheon. Be sure and view the album for all the highlights!
